Check Car Mileage

 What is a mileage check?

It is crucial to investigate the history of a vehicle's past using a mileage check to make sure that there are no inconsistencies in it because automobile clocking is a menacing problem that keeps rising in the UK, with many new ways of clocks using the software as well.

With the help of MOT records, however, it is possible to figure out if there is any mileage discrepancy. Mileage recalculation, or "clocking," as it is more widely known, is manipulating the odometer on a vehicle to inflate the mileage reading.

Modifying a car's odometer reading and selling it to the customer without their knowledge is a punishable offense under the law, you can find if the used car you are buying is genuine or not with our used car check.

There are a few common steps that we would advise you to follow to prevent buying a car that has been tampered with:

  • Always buy a vehicle check details report. We check through millions of mileage readings to find out if there is any anomaly and state it in the reports. But history check report if we have any recorded readings for any mileage check, we shall always publish the precise readings, the source of each measurement, and the date of each mileage entry.
  • Note that only when there have been no previous mileage measures taken on a vehicle are mileage readings permitted. CarDotCheck does not promise to have mileage readings for all vehicles in the UK. We have however accumulated a huge mileage record on UK cars, and we substantially add to it every day.
  • We also advise you to see whether a car has service history, and if it does, be sure to get in touch with at least some of the shops that have stamped the service record book. Ask them to confirm whether they performed the required maintenance on the car and whether they have a record of the mileage at the time.
  • It is important to look for symptoms of extreme wear and tear that go beyond what is considered normal for the vehicle's age and documented mileage.
  • In addition to the dishonesty of selling a car that has been timed, clocked vehicles also have major safety problems. When you consider that standard service and regular maintenance intervals are typically calculated based on a vehicle's mileage, general servicing, like brakes and fluids, will not be changed when they are scheduled and may cause failure. This would be especially problematic if the vehicle's timing belt is not changed when it is required.
